I just received a phone call for a job interview in Deerfield Bch, FL. regarding bankers life and casualty co.

an Indian person was talking so fast that I didn't understand. I told him that It was an 1 1/2hr drive from my houise.. He scheduled my appointment.

Now that I have'd read it's a scam and not making the drive for the interview... why India of all countries...?

Guest

Bankers has locations in 49 states and has been in business for over 100 years... Wow, thats a long time to successfully be ‘scamming’ people?!?...

Really?? Lazy Americans have nothing better to do than sit behind their computer screens and create conspiracies that don’t exist.

Maybe if people spent more time taking ADVANTAGE of job opportunities ( and less time COMPLAINING about them) our nation’s unemployment rate wouldn't be anywhere near as high. Just some food for thought…

Guest

They are not fronts they realy have offices in all states and many branches in each of them. I would not listen to what they are saying. You need to go and judge it for yourself.

Guest

I was contacted today for an interview. Everyones reviews Ive read so far is right on !

My question is : if bankers life 7 Casualty is a scam then how do they have so many locations in 49 states? I suppose they are only fronts but still it makes you wonder.

I haven't decided or not if I'm attending the group interview next week.

Thanks to all who have warned me. I appreciate it.

Helping Seniors While Having a Senior Moment

When I was younger, my grandmother lived with my family for a few years before she passed away. As she got up there in age, there would be small things that she would forget. Whenever she made a mistake, she'd call it a "senior moment" and we'd laugh about it. I just moments ago had a senior moment with a representative from Bankers. I received a phone call from a gentleman from their company asking if I was interested in interviewing with them. Since I am looking for work, I thought "why not?" We talked for a bit as he went through some questions he had to ask me. The questions are typical for these interview scams. "Do I have any sales/customer service experience? Do you have any management experience? How much money do you want to make?" I went through and answered honestly, taking note of how he faked interest over my answers. My year experience as a cashier in high school over ten years ago was enough to qualify me as experienced in sales apparently. The gentleman asked if I wanted to come to an interview and I said I would just to check it out. He gave me the information and, as another commenter noted, had to tell me to "bring a resume" and "dress professionally". Not quite sure who would show up to an interview dressed casually and without a resume but I guess it was part of his script. I took down the information and wished him a good day. Not more than two minutes later, I received another phone call from the same number. It was the same guy, apparently totally forgetting that he spoke with me a few minutes earlier. He went through his speech, which was obviously scripted, and I just made up stuff this time. He never once recognized my voice or if he did, he didn't seem to care. Obviously, I feel bad for the guy as you know this must be one of those companies where you need to get associates working under you to move up and make more money in the company. Fortunately for me, I know I can skip the presentation as this would not be a serious opportunity for me.

I'm sick of all these people complaining about Bankers

I have worked at bankers for a year and a half. I have gotten to help about 100 families protect themselves.

I am tired of 1 or 2 people calling it a scam. This is how my 2 small boys (4 and 8 mths) get their food. When people who are lazy and dumb and can't manage their own time call Bankers a scam, it hurts my wife, boys, anmd me. I interviewed with Met, NY Life, Monumental, AFLAC, and a few other of the "big boys".

They all wanted credit cards, atleast 450 a month plus the names of my 200 closest friends. Bankers has taught me to work hard and concetrate on HELPING people, nothing more. We are not the scam that "Inside Edition" and *** who can't spell on the internet make us out to be. If you have problems with claims, call the closest Branch office.

If they do not help, call your state department of insurance.

Don't use the internet. Get some results!!!!

Bankers will not take your credit card. They charge you monthly out of your commissions.

Also, Bankers is one of the most expensive insurance companies with a lower rating than those "big boys".

It is people like you sir that bad mouth the larger companies in houses to make sales. I run across that daily in the field.

Guest

You were highly irresponsible having a baby when you knew you did not have stable employment. I bet taxpayers are now supporting your family. Oh and you should not talk about other peoples' spelling and grammar, because your own is not so good either.

Guest

Hahahah!!!

What's funny is the guy who posted above is no longer with Bankers. Sucker!

Another one bites the dust.

Attention everyone looking to join the insurance business... Join Bankers- they will hire anyone and everyone, use them for their training then RUN! RUN far and Run fast. The comp and plan offering at Bankers are well below par in comparison to any company.

No one stays at Bankers, unless you're good with a struggling lifestyle. Bankers isn't a scam, Bankers is broke just as 99% of the agents that work for them.

Guest

umm what? I work for New York life which is a LOT better then Bankers which I worked at before.

NY Life didn't ask me to pay them a penny.

And they sure as *** didn't ask me for a credit card. The 200 names you talk about is for your project 200. You don't have to actually harass 200 people. They Send a mailout introducing you as an agent to those 200 people.

It's pretty standard.

I've only been with NY Life for 2 months and they are already sponsoring me for my Series 6 & 63 something Bankers won't do for years.

Bankers life is definitely not a scam. But they have *** hiring practices, terrible micromanaging, and unethical prospecting.

Guest

This lady is an ***. Your in the brainwashing phase.

Just keep believing the *** they're feeding you. The writing is on the wall but you are only listening to what you want to here.

Trust me just give it time.

Guest

LMFAO! Did you really just try to diss other people on their spelling?

DUDE! You did not proofread your own rant! It is riddled with errors!!! OMG!

You f_ucking joke azzclown of a person! BWHAHAHAHAH!

Guest

Lady you have no idea what your talking about when your on 18 months working for Bankers life . However , one day you will eat your own words.

Guest

Keep defending them. Keep worrying about the insurance 'pool'. It's helps your concious.

Guest

Actually many companies have a separate fund set aside for lawsuit & fine claims. If they didn't each lawsuit or fine would screw up the insurance pools and mess with premiums and benefits.

Guest

so they do not pay you by the hour

Bankers Life is a scam company to work for

They make you spend all your money on training and licenceing set u up with a person who hangs on your coat tails while you make all the appointments which all seem to be worthless leads and the person you are working with knows that. You spend hours calling the same leads over and over. Torture is the word that comes to mind. Then after wasting your gas, time, weekends, and a lot of money to get you started you finally leave the company and they come after you still wanting the few dollars they paid you in advancements back because of a policy that lapsed, but in the mean time they are making money on the policys you do still have the company... Stay Away save yourself greive and aggravation!!!

I have an interview with them this thursday. So I went online to see exactly what this company is about.

Then I started seeing testimonials of others that have had just horrible times with Bankers Trust. I don't think that I will not go. Thanks for all the information. I have not seen one link that I clicked on that shows me good information about the company.

I already feel like this is a waste. :sigh

Guest

hey guys im interviewing for this same position i was wondering about this company and now im having second thoughts. but ive been laid off for 9 months and no work in site so i wasnt sure so ty for the advice.

Guest

This place is a joke, and I think that it is sick that they prey on the elderly. They should be shut down. Thank goodness I found out about this place before I went to the so called "interview"

Guest

Upper management, at the branch level, are all liers, and frauds. They make you forge signatures, they make you pressure the clients, they make it seem normal to bend the truth.

You spend money on leads and it you have a pretty face or a great set of ***, you get more & better leads. Upper management are nothing but sexist criminals.

Guest

I want to thank all of you very much for your warnings!!! I was set to have a meeting with them tomorrow and I really didn't want to go.

You all just made it easier for me. Thanks!!

Guest

Trust me, do not work for them. I did and wow!

They come across as trying to help the elderly but in reality they are doing nothing but teaching agents to capture any available funds the elderly have by causing worry and a lot of what ifs. Its all about finding that one client who's GOT FAT CASH and then let management know so they can close and of course give you a percentage. Manager tells you he will not take a dime if you find a big deal (although I am told he actually cant anyway in his position) but to take care of his team will all of a sudden can't make meeting and will then send in someone who will take 50% of your commission. Its a big BS game.

Agents are there just to make calls to get in house, find the money. I got in and out very quickly.

These people need to be watched more closely. Elderly beware...

Guest

My correction, second sentence, Your writting alone. See, I made a typing error and didn't correct it after rewritting my sentence, but I caught it. I guess I'm allowwed because I'm not bragging about making six figures, BUT I'm proud to say, I'M NOT A BANKERS *** BAG EMPLOYEE EITHER---who also doesn't make six figures.---wow six figures, you lie well Bankers fan!!

Comment below, you tell him/her like it is, we all hope to see many Banker's *** behind bars and we're the force to see that it happens!!

Guest

You are fooling no one. You're writting alone proves that you don't have the education to work your way out of a wet paper box.

Seven figures---haha, you are truly a joke, so maybe that is one thing that you have in common with Bankers Life company, it's a joke that the government hasn't put a stop to Banker's ***- artists targeting our seniors with this scam.

Hopefully by the end of this year, the US senate, the federal gov will expose Bankers.

to bankers fan, get back to your wet box and learn to spell and capitalize!! seven figure employees should know how.

hahahaha. also, walmart is where i seen you last, at least it's an honorable job unlike bankers!!!

Guest

Your comment only demonstrates the already sadly obvious, compounded by the exposure of "dozens of agents and thousands of clients", to you. You won't be good enough for Walmart when they get through convicting you of fraud.

Happily, those dozens and thousands will celebrating that. We see a jail cell in your future.

Guest

What a little ***. I've been with Bankers 7 years.

Every year my income has increased to its 6 figure level and I've helped develop the career of dozens of agents, along with helping thousands of clients.

I see a career as a Wal Mart greeter in your future. Then again, that will only last a few short days as well.

Bankers Life Louisville, Ky

Beware of Bankers Life and Casualty in Louisville, Ky. I worked there for about a year and it is nothing but a scam.

The manager there is Scott Bogdon and he does not care about the agents. I bet he went thru over 100 agents the year I worked there. He takes 10% of your commissions and puts it toward leads......HOWEVER, you never see any leads. I think he uses the money for himself.

Also, if you are a woman, beware...he made me very uncomfortable. Always touching me and looking at my ***/cleavage. He always wanted to meet in his office or take me to lunch, I learned real quick not to be alone with him. I tolerated it for awhile, just because I am a single mom and needed the money.

I did earn a decent income that year, but it got to be to where it just wasnt worth it.

If they could keep anybody it might be different, but the turnover is terrible. He promises all this training, but nobody ever gets trained.

I think the only reason I got any attention was that I was an attractive lady. Trust me though, this guy is a *** and the company is a scam.

I got a call today to meet with Kyle as well. Did you go? Was it worth it?

Guest

I really do not take heed in these *** reviews. It is now 2014 and these comments were made 3 or 4 years ago.

I have been offered a job by Scott at the Louisville branch. These people (including the original posting) just sound they are blowing smoke up peoples butt because they are mad at the world. Of course leads aren't free, I had to pay for them when I worked for AFLAC. I met Scott and he seems like a great guy, plus I talked to the 25 agents in that office.

Reviews that can't spell "through" and "policy" correctly really tells me you have no idea.

The original poster even admits that you make a good income your first year (good for me I'm broke), and if you were actually there, you would know how many agents went through there without pulling the "I bet" card.

In regards to the unethical practices, if this was the case the commissioner of insurance should have been notified, and if there was an "investigation", how come 3 years later the branch is still there and Scott is still BSM? Doesn't make sense to me.

Seems like the agent who originally posted was having a bad day and decided to take it out on somebody because she pulls the "creeper" and "looking at me" card. How would you feel if nobody noticed you? Pretty lonely huh. The fact you admit you make a good income, and griped about 10% for leads tells me you just wanted to have your hand held, without actually putting in "Work".

Banker's is still in business, and now they are fronting $500,000 for a new Louisville office. Agents that say this is a scheme, need to retake the class and get the basic idea of "insurance", or ,just do not go out in public because they get along with anybody.

Lay individuals who has no idea on the structure of insurance obviously thinks it's a ponzi-scheme, insurance is where you pay in the promise that they will give you money in a particular event. So to the people here saying that, get your license and do it before you make assumptions.

I am excited for my new opportunity at bankers, and look forward to helping senior citizens secure their retirement that they have worked hard to build. A website titled "pissed off consumer", is for smoke blowers that can't get their life together.

However I will get mine with Bankers and the wonderful opportunity it brings.

Guest

I just got a call from them. Thank you for the info. I will not be calling them back!

Guest

I am very interested in getting back into sales. I have a very successful past though I have not ever sold insurance.

Bankers did contact me and I did go to the "group" first interview. I have a follow up one on one scheduled.

I understand the complaints though being in sales when one leaves a Co they usually do not have good things to say. I assume one either quit or was terminated due to not making their goal and or received a charge back.

I ask this. What was good about the Co? Where you happy with the money/compensation earned? Were you able to get leads every day?

I will never be unethical in my approach nor will I be misleading. Though I am not scared on rejection and the word NO. As far as what others do that is on them. I get the disgruntle comments but can someone share some facts with me?

Good and Bad. Contemplating!

Thank you in advance.

Guest

I lasted there for 6 months. I finally had enough when I watched my "trainer" go into a man's house (who barely had 2 nickels to rub together), set up online banking without his knowledge, select a password for him, transfer money from his savings account (leaving the poor guy about $200), and then tell him to write a check for an equity indexed annuity that he did not need nor could afford. Such pathetic behavior, I did not want to be associated with it.

Guest

Does your name rhyme with "Saul Baulding"????

Guest

Hey K are you another in his web baby. Has he got you scamming the elderly and giving that special behind the door bonus?

Don't shut up, do tell, hahaha. Hope there are congical visits when the feds are done with him, just for you sweetie unless you're behind bars too because he dragged you in to this pyramid ponzi scheme. I'm surprised he isn't in hiding like other Bankers *** CEO's

For any one in the Louisville and Ky area who are victims of Bankers, contact the insurance commissioner in Frankfort, Ky.

They are aware of Bogdon and the investigation in Washington DC by the federal gov. Also send your statement to US senate special committee on aging in Washington DC

I went to the first interview, but I have already been run through the ringer with another insurance company and after being screwed and more in debt the I was I think I'm going to pass on this company as well.

Guest

Clearly they didn't hire several of you folks because you couldn't even read and write at a first grade level.

Sorry, but if you're as dumb as a box of *** rocks, then you'll never get any farther than the car wash or head cashier at Target. Try a night school and learn something, for Christ's sake!

Guest

This is a scam, please donot waste your time on these people!

Guest

I can't believe you would think you could succeed in any business that requires communication skills. Your grammar is atrocious.

Your spelling is even worse. Go back to school and get an education.

Guest

I got a call yesterday from banker insurance a lady saying she got my resume online and she has two positions opened with training that comes along my interview is tomorrow and im not feeling it anymore due to all the posts I received two emails reminding me of the interview.

Guest

In response to J, when you are trying to insult someone's intelligence and grammar, at least spell GRAMMAR correctly. Leave your useless comments to yourself.

Guest

So its actually a presentation they show you at first as a group, its actually kinda cool then they narrow it down to a second interview with a second smaller presentation, the third interview means your kinda hired if they called you for it the catch is you obviously have to if you didnt already, pay 439 which they say you get reembursed to the state or idk what for the course and state test to recieve the designation or licence to sell because you will be "self employed" entrepenuar style. And working solely on commision.

Idk what to do i dont even have a car to waste gas on my dads van for seeing people at thierhouse. And idk if ill really make the money they say.

Guest

I graduated with a computer information systems degree a couple of months ago and I got called from this company as well. The job has absolutely nothing to do with my major...I did set up a interview just to see what they could offer but after all of the bad reviews I think i'll cancel

Guest

Just posted my resume on Monster and Careerbuilder and got a call from "Melisa" as well. She's called twice and left messages, but I didn't respond.

I'm an Engineer...wth do I have to offer a Bankers Life and Casualty Company? Sounded like a scam to me.

Google seems to indicate that also. Think I'll tell her I have a $300 consultation fee when she calls next and if she cuts me a check I'll be happy to come in for the interview.

Guest

I was contacted by this one lady Anneett Rivera .Stating that my resume has what they are looking for,I asked her to tell me what the company does and she couldnt

*** it atleast sell the company ur working for to someone u r trying to get on board.

I see why she could not say,I am so not scheduling a meeting.

Good luck to everyone else.I aint that desperate.

Suspicious interview notification

I also got a call from some Gail so-and-so and could not even understand the name of the company when she left a message. Called back and could not understand the gist of the company but yet suddenly I was expected to show up for an interview the following day at 11am before much was even clarified at all. My background is completely unrelated to predatory health insurance companies, so after an internet search of their company I knew something was up. Very thankful to the reviews left on this site to help me act on my gut instinct to cancel the interview post haste. If the reports are true about having to pay for your time at the interview(s) I'm glad I acted accordingly. Thank you vigilant comment writers and "pissed consumer" website!

I also got a phone call yesterday from this lady named Joelle, who left me a message saying she found my resume on monster and believed my background was fit for the position they had currently available in their company. Weird!!!

because my back ground got nothing to do with sales and financial products. So i called her back and she thanked me like 5 times for doing so and scheduled an interview for Monday. No job description was mentioned, but I was asked to bring my resume and dress professionally. Today I decided to go online and get some more info about the company so I could be prepared for Monday.

As soon as I google it the scam link comes up.

As I'm speaking i'm reading all these reviews and Im glad I decided to google this in the first place. Lesson learned: always google everything you come accross!!!!

Guest

I agree! When they called me about my resume they left a message and I literally had to listen to it over and over to try & understand what their company name was.

There were dogs baking right behind the lady who was leaving the message lol! So I ended up calling back out of curiosity but played phone tag for a few days. I realized during that time that something just wasn't right so I never tried calling them again.

2 weeks later the same woman called me again. If this was a legit job offer, they certainly wouldn't be so persistent about getting me to come interview...they would have moved on to the next person who was qualified and left me in the dust for not getting back to them!

Guest

Same person called me and it sounded fishy right away, plus there was *** playing in the background! not joking. well thanks guys.

Guest

I want to say thank you all for posting your information about Bankers life. I received a phone call today (twice so far) and was thinking about calling them to see what they had to say.

I will not even waist my time. Again, Thank you everyone who posted it really helped.

Bankers Life And Casualty NOT A SCAM!!

Updated by user Nov 19, 2011

Well now i have been with bankers as a recruiter for about 2 months and I am happy with my job. I had people actually thank me for ceiling them in to the interview because they loved what they heard at the briefing.

It made me feel really good. I was working commission...

Original review Sep 22, 2011
I dont know why all of these people are saying that Bankers life and casualty is a scam when they get called in for an interview. They found my resume online and i went in for an interview.

Even though i did not take the job in sales or management because i am not a sales person i did take the job as a recruiter and currently am working for them. I call people and they seem to get angry when i can not give them full information about the positions. But in all reality i really do not have that information to give out. That is what the interviews are for and recruiters dont have that info.

And people call you back angry telling you that i am a scammer is really annoying. im not a scammer and if you want to think so go right ahead. I am not the one passing up an opportunity for a job, YOU ARE! I KIND OF WANT TO LAUGH IN THE EAR OF EACH PERSON THAT SAYS WE ARE A SCAM BUT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO BE RUDE BY THE COMPANY..lol but it is kinda funny.

all im doing is offering you an opportunity if you want to listen to a website full of people that have no clue what they are talking about go right ahead..its your loss not anyone else!

anyway...im done! good luck on your job search!!

I've been to 3 separate interviews for the position of Unit Field Trainer, (Manager) and have loved everything I have heard. An agent position is an entry level job, if you want low pay for mediocre work go apply at Mcdonalds.

Any entry level position is going to be tough.

That's why you prove your worth to your superiors and look to advance through the company quickly. If you live a mediocre life and aren't willing to step out of your comfort zone, then your not the ideal candidate for any position other than janitor, and even that's pushing it.

Guest

I was called yesterday by a recruiter looking for a "sales manager". I was told I was a great candidate because of my training skills and management experience.

I verified that this was to be a management roll, training employees, and not working with customers. When I got there fifteen minutes early, there were already three other candidates filling the only three chairs in the waiting room. After signing in and collecting my welcome packet, I decided to wait in the hallway. More candidates came and continued to fill the room or chose to stand with me in the hall.

Others had been told that they too were interviewing for a management position. The time for the interview came, and the whole group, about a dozen of us, were led into an office because their boardroom was locked and no one had a key. We squished in as we were told a little about the company, no fancy slides because they were in the locked boardroom. We were asked to fill out questionnaire forms about our backgrounds, and at the end it asked if we had anyone we wanted to refer.

They then took us one by one for individual interviews. My interview consisted of being asked if I could sell insurance. When I mentioned I was told the interview was for a management position, the interviewer said they almost never hired management from outside the company.

I told him no thanks to the job and left. He handed me a card and said to give him a call if I decided I wanted to make some money.

Guest

I am a 79 year senior that gets call from these people over and over and over..They all say they are sorry and they all say they will fill out a form and make sure this will never happen again..

But Day aftyer Day I get calls and I feel now it is a deliberate harassment against me..Even had several of the ladies try and make nice to me so they can get into see me and give me the speil of their product whwich I dont want or need as my son is in the same industry.

You people at Bankers Trust shoudl be ashamed of yourself, you are all sick hungry bastards that prey on seniors like myself and wont take no for an answer and wont stop harassing us...

I am waiting for the letters I keep getting from Bankers Trust I believe iout of Chicago

that had the name of the President or VP signedf to it and will I chew his fat *** out about this...

Tori..You people give me the shakes from a nice peacefull morning of reading the papers to these harassing calls...

Have you ever tried the Do not call list? They cant call you if you are on it, but its something you need to do for yourself. Also, because you are 79 (80, 81 now?) there really isnt a lot of anything they could do for you service wise.

Also, are you talking about Bankers Trust or Bankers Life?

Guest

I have applied and been accepted to Bankers Life. I had gone through Kelly Services for a drug screen and backround check.

To me everything seems legit. I don't know why these people are saying its a scam. I even signed a paper saying that i would be making $10 an hour plus commission. To me that doesnt seem like its a scam.

Yes i did read the whole paper as well as the Handbook I will be working at Bankers Life but not through them only through Kelly Services as a Dialer. I never had a group interview. I had an actual interview that was by myself and the manger at the branch.

I also have a friend working for Bankers Life as a recruiter I gave her my number and her boss called me for an interview. You people are crazy..

Guest

I am going in soon for an “interview” with an open mind. I will post my findings afterward.

Here we go….

Guest

After recruiting for a while i found out the the IT people are the rude ones for some reason so now when i come across their resume i just trash it and dont even bother to call them! THEY ARE NOT EVEN WORTH MY TIME!

Guest

I didn't even get asked; instead I got a voicemail from a recruiter with a heavy accent named "Smith" informing me that I had an interview set up with Bankers Life & Casualty the following Tuesday...!? Like others my background is IT, so why are you calling me?

I smelled BS and Googled them, found this site.

Thanks! No itention of going to this "interview."

I dont know who re ruiterd you but I tell everyone that the meeting is set up as a career briefing. And sorry we had to reschedule you we never had so many people attend before so that was not expected. You should come back.:)

Does not honor claim continues to request same information

Have owned a disability policy for 10+ years became disabled March 2010 received claim checks from June 2010 thru Dec 1,2010. Stopped payments due to lack of information. Somehow the company had enough information to start my claim for 6 months but I guess I apparently used up all that information. June 2011 I am still under doctors care and unable to return to work with cervical fusion procedure now scheduled June 29th 2011. Have made numerous, numerous phone calls and talked with many answer droids who have American names but speak with some middle east dialect that is apparently beyond my comprehension. The conversation always ends with we don't have enough information. In June 2011 I request to speak with a supervisor ("Raquel" stage name) she assures me that she will get to the bottom of this personally and get back to me within 2 days. 2 weeks later I called B/C and by chance got "Raquel" on the line. She apologizes to me for failure to return call. Apparently some one with a more serious complaint knocked me out of the saddle but please send more information (AGAIN) If they need me to continue sending the same information every month I suggest that Bankers Casualty office manager go to Office Depot and order a copier. Whoever rated this company as a class A company worthy of doing business in the USA should seriously consider some other line of work. This company SUCKS 5 STAR and I understand why they have to deceive job seekers to apply. My name is Jackie Gann and this is my honest testimony.

Always send requested info to Bankers Certified as they must sign for it. You in turn receive a confirmation of their receiving it..no game playing.

Also, when calling for info on policy status the dumbbells are always denying that they received such and such info...at first..then miraculously it surfaces.

A few weeks ago my Mom's policy ltc policy was approved..I bombarded them with paperwork and today I receive a letter stating they dont't have proof of 5 days of her elimination period...but they doooooo!!!!

You must be persistent...you must be exact with paperwork (certified mail only) and you must seek or threaten to seek legal counsel.

I have HATED dealing with this company.

There is absolutely no way my mother could have filed for benefits, but Bankers banks on this concept. Their agents have been some of most deceptive, snot nosed, bald faced, arrogant liars I have ever encountered..it was fun working them all over

Guest

I to am experiencing delay tactics with Bankers Life. Same thing every few days I call to check the status of the claim an they tell me I need to re-fax the same info.

I have gone into branch office 3 times in St.

Cloud. They always assure me it is taken care of. Then I need to re-fax same material again. I asked to talk to some-one at HQ Indiana and I end up talking to a call center in Jamaica.

(He told me the number was for Indiana but they are routed to Jamaica) I have never dealt w/ an organization with absolutely no customer service at all. Every time I call they offer me condolences on the passing of my mother and every time I visit their office, one of the agents offers me a business card. "REALLY".

I do not need any condolences and the last thing I need is a business card from somebody at a company that I would never, ever, ever dream of doing business with. What I need is a check from company before they go belly up.

Guest

Wait a minute. Did you just say the company sent a letter to the claimant, telling him that he is deceased?

I'm sure he was interested to know that. Very creative way to not pay.

I must agree!!! I have been dealing with Bankers Long Term Care department for over 6 months.

Same thing...keeps requesting same information. Finally got paid on one month and now they denied the next month even though my aunts status has not changed. I received a letter stating she was approved thru November 2011 for her claim but they keep sending denial letters. When I call they say the letters are an error and the claim is still in review.

Then I get a letter asking for her ss# and that her policy has ended. Seriously!?! I call every week!!! They definitely out source their claims calls to India.

Everyone has English names but heavy Indian accents.

The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET A LONG TERM CARE POLICY FROM BANKERS!

Bankers Life and Casualty "Scam"

First off, I am sorry for everyone who has problems, but you need to know every branch runs differently. The branch I work for, does call many many people everyday, but we do not charge for training, the only charge is classes, and the inevitable state of michigan exam. As far as people getting messed up on their policies that is not Bankers Life persay, but the agent moreso that you dealt with. There are tough parts to the job, but my branch seems to be doing very well, and when I contact people I answer any questions that I can that I know 100% are correct I do not lie to them to get them here.

I was just contacted by this company for an interview and was suspicious; I've been around a few years. This posted information has confirmed my concerns and saved me some valuable time.

I will write them and cancel the interview right away. Thanks.

Guest

i just did my second "interview" today. I don't think things are as bad as many of you have painted.

Not saying I'd take the job. I used to work for a VERY well-known flower company as a customer service rep. I LOVED working for this company. the people were great and i believed they were VERY fair to their customers.

after months i found a page just like this online with people talking about how horrible they were and.. very pissed off. EVERY company has someone pissed off at them sometime.

Even God has people mad at Him and He is perfect! :)

Guest

You don't sound too happy to me

Guest

Been there, done that. You are a total ***.

I've been a very sucessful agent for many years. Bankers su*cks. You su*ck. Get a clue.

Your recruiting on this site is pathetic. You are pathologic. This company takes people and uses them up. End of story.

You can't change that. Your insults don't work. People need the truth. Read the other 191 complaints here and understand this company will sell a crock, then come after you for the money.

You don't need that.

Be aware of what's being told here. It is true.

Guest

Brainwashing??? I guess im brainwashed when I get my paychecks.

I guess im brainwashed when I help a senior lower their supplimental payment by 25%. Yeah, it's all brainwashing!!! TO:BANKERSA - you are obviously a failed agent who has an axe to grind. Probably used to getting everything handed to you.

Any sales job is hard. Maybe you can sell Ice cream on the boardwalk where people come to you!

Guest

i have received two messages from this company stating that i had put my resume' on the internet. i have never put my resume' on the internet. apparently, they are interested in hiring me. ha!!!!

as someone stated before, the message was from some woman i could hardly understand.

what a scam !!!!!!!

Guest

Your effort to circumvent a "negative" response, hasn't worked. You are apparently lost in the confusing world of Medicare, after having used it to misrepresent your appointment setting with the seniors you are scamming.

The persons who explain the issues here, are successful, and were there for many years, before it became a boil on the industry. You can only hope the "lambs to slaughter"/recruits do "exactly" what they are told by the field trainer, while they go broke and have to live with themselves after reading the comments here, and 'buy in' anyway.

Most are smarter than that. You however, are a prime example of the brainwashing mindset that has made this the busiest site on.....hello.....****ed consumer.

Guest

Not a scam. People, the negative comments are from people who could not do the job!

It is a sales job. If you work for a car dealership, you get paid when you sell. Same goes for insurance. Anyone who goes to an interview without looking into the company is just plain dumb.

We do not prey on anyone or use high pressure sales. I run 10-15 appointments and sell about 4 policies a week. The other 10 or so appointments could either not afford, not interested or existing insurance was just right for them. The only advice I can give to new agents is; give it a few weeks and do exactly what your field trainers tell you.....

You will earn a good living while helping people in the confusing world of Medicare.

Any negative replies to this will be from people not cut out for a career that requires hard work with a great return. Work a 9-5 and get your 3% yearly raise.

I agree with you! In any company you have someone who couldn't do the job, so what do they do?

They turn around and bad mouth the company. Any time someone doesn't get their way these days, they immediately have to find a reason why it was anyone else fault but their own. It is a company for those that want to start your own business and grow with the company. Not an immediate get rich quick "scam".

If you want to work for this company - you work here for the reason that you want to help out the senior citizen market, not to get rich. Come on people..

Guest

I also just received a call this morning from a lady that I couldn't understand very clearly stating she saw my resume and wanted to explain what Bankers Life has to offer. Thankfully I missed the call and she left a message. I am now researching the company before I call back so that I don't get blind sighted.

Bankers life Scam!

I just signed up for career builder this morning and was contacted almost five minutes after i had finished putting my resume up. Someone named Andy says that i would fit the position perfect and things would be great. So i am always sceptical about things like this so i looked the company up the first thing that came up was scam. So i looked more into it. I called the company, and guess what the same lady was reading verbatim what i was being told and just like everyone else she got mad when i asked about the company and what would I be doing if i was hiring on with the company so i left it alone and WILL not be going to that..SCAM!

Now this is an insightful post....you have been two whole months? Excuse me, but do you ever a rude awakening coming your way.

They will be happily walking you to the door, in about....oh, let's say....another 30 days. You have provided them with plenty of entertainment. I've seen thousands of you. You wouldn't even be here at, where????****d consumer.com if your doubt wasn't beginning to evade your stubborn disregard of the truth.

Keep writing, they can't wait for you to leave. S*ucks to be you.

Guest

If you can read this stuff with an open mind and without a witchhunt mentality, you'll clearly see that the "scam" reports all originate from who? .....

ex-agents or, more precisely, recruits who came in and did not have the work ethic, integrity and perseverence to learn and apply themselves to a very worthwhile career and purpose in life.

Personally, I've been with the company two months and have had to fight thru the tough days to keep from running away. But every day I stick with it, I find myself learning more and more and becoming better and better at helping people make meaningful decisions for themselves and their families.

Guest

I*m nervous....should I go to this interview you guys? I just got a call back from them as well! :eek

Guest

Go recruit somewhere else. You have no other insurance experience, and have no idea what a real insurance company is, or does.

You wouldn't know ethics, if it walked up to you. At Bankers, you fit the profile if you can fog a mirror and are willing to take advantage of seniors, and go broke. You are correct that it's not for everyone, in fact it's not for anyone to spend the time or the money for the group cattle call, then participate with a D rated company by Weiss, and a 95%+ failure rate.

You are seriously pathetic. Why don't you go out there and read the fines, violations, investigations, TV news stories, and thousands of complaints with your extra time, instead of showing us just how decieving you and your company's line of cr*ap is here?

Guest

At Bankers you do fit the profile no matter what your past experience is. I came from the construction industry and now am a manager with bankers.

I've seen all walks of life come in and change their life because they had the work ethic and trainability to follow a succesful program. This is not a scam. Wow! Thank God Bankers found me and gave me this wonderful opportunity.

Good luck in your job hunt. Remember that this job is not for everyone but we will give anyone a chance.

Guest

Thank you for your post. I got the same email.

You've saved me time and trouble. :)

Bankers Life Insurance Denies 84yr old Woman's claim

WOW!! My 84 year old Mother has been paying into this insurance for over 10 years, submitted her 1st claim, and SURPRISE! They denied it, twice. The woman couldn't even get out of bed, and they denied it saying she has to not be able to complete two daily living activities. HELLO? What a waste of time these people are. I was considering getting this for myself, until now. They are just trying to wear us out, and hope we give up. I HATE this company, and wished we never heard of them!!! This is just the begining. I have no intention of letting them rip off my Mother, and will do everything humanly possib;le to make sure she gets what is rightfully hers.

Actually that's a state rule. In order for many of the long term care policies to pay benefits the insured can't complete 2 Activities of daily living. It's the same across the board.

Guest

Sadly that is what they do. First copy all forms, and notes, complete with a doctor's certification stating that she is expected to need "hands on or stand by assistance with at least two out of the six ADL's for at least 90 days", or a cognitive impairment, to meet the language of the policy, and all denials docs.

Send this to the department of insurance in your state, and to the VP of claims at Bankers, with a 'cc' of who all is recieving the copies: the DOI (department of insurance), also your state representative, and senator. Copy it also to the Senate Investigation on Aging: Attention Senator Kohl, also to the local news station, the local paper and anyone else with eyeballs. In your docs, write a cover letter, expressing the resolution you expect, including all backpayments to the date of claim, after the elimantion period. Be sure to show where Medicare paid any 'rehab'(not hospital) time, as that is usually applicable to the elimin (consider it a deductible period).

Also, for your FYI, check a great website with ex-Bankers agents discussing this company, they will assist you happily, called scam.com-search Bankers Life is a scam. Send all docs certified with receipt signature. Sorry that they exist in the industry, and are not paying, when you, your family, and your mother need it most. Do not have anymore verbal contact, put in your letter, that they are to only contact in writing.

Visit with those agents on that fantastic website, you will get results. I,....I mean, they, will look forward to seeing and helping you.

Can't create paqssword to Bankers Life.

Can't create password to Bankers Life. I tried for more than an hour to create a password using Banker"s criteria. My name is Norvaol Cox. My email address is norvaljr6867@***.net. I am getting pissed off some more because I have to type 100 words to say I am pissed off. I have been a policy holder for more than ten years. I feel sorry for my caretakers because they will have to spend a year or two filling out one page. I need your service. My address is 2220 Humbert Street, Alton, IL. Norval M. Cox.

Glad I checked here before going to their "interview"

As have others, I got a cold call from a recruiter whose accent I could not understand. He was unable to tell me what kind of a company this was, what services they provide, and why the heck they would be calling me - I'm not a salesperson. They obtained my name from a medical recruitment website (which is a huge breach of confidentialy, as I signed up to remain anonymous. Anyway, I probably would have gone to this interview neck week for the *** of it, but it just sounded fishy, and thanks to the rest of you who have BTDT, I save myself the time. (Actually, as soon as I got the "come in business attire" line, I knew I was in trouble -- I don't even own "business attire".) I replied to the "confirmation" e-mail by telling them I was offended by the unsolicited call, and the inappropriate trolling of the recruitment websites. Does this reek of a Ponzi scam to anyone else?

I also got a cold call a few days ago from a lady called 'Noel' who said that the company had found my resume on Monster.com. Which I thought was really weird.

I set up an interview for Monday morning anyway.

Glad I looked up this "company" on the internet. I'm not even going to bother calling to cancel.

Guest

A big hustle...

Thanks to the posters on this forum about how Banker's Life & Casualty works. I had huge warning flags go up when I got a call from them about them wanting me to come in for an interview. I currently have my resume up on several job-search sites, but never recalled applying to them. After reading so many of the complaints on pissedconsumer, I decided that my time would be better spent NOT going to the interview and looking for a job where I would actually earn a definite paycheck instead. To those of you who think that they can make money on a 100% commission job, I can only offer you the advice of BE VERY CAREFUL. I had a job like this in the past, and wound up spending more money on running around chasing sales leads than I ever made.

You aren't funny, and you are blind running stu*pid. Your company and you won't be around much longer.

These people are looking for success, with a successful company. Not Bankers. If your care of clients is the same as your care about "Mom/Dad", then they've gone broke, claimless, and decieved, and they're family...you are the stranger to be very leary of.

It's even weird that you're here at ****edconsumer selling that line of ...., kinda like some abarre*nt character out of Criminal Minds. If that doesn't convince people, nothing will.

Guest

I think it's funny how all the pissed off people are still unemployed. I think its also funny how you'll listen to a complete stranger and just gather bits and peices to make your decision.

It's the blind leading the blind. There is a reason Bankers Life and Casualty has been around since 1879 and its not because they scam seniors. We all have family and care about them.

We care about our clients the same way we care about our Moms, Dads, and others. Good luck in your job hunt.
