I LOVE BANKERS LIFE

I recruited for Bankers Life. I personally brought people in for job opportunities to make over $60,000 in a year's span. Our manager made $200,000 a year because he worked his *** off for 15 years to make it there. You have to work your butt off in this country for something you want. We help people and when I recruit someone it is because their Resume or Cover Letter says "I am a hard working individual looking for a career where there is opportunity for growth" Which is exactly what we do at Bankers. I love my job and I love everyone I work with. Don't believe everything you see online. If you want a great job, come check us out.

You aren't receiving resumes and covers letters, you are scrounging around different websites for resumes and calling pretty much anyone, regardless of their career background. BL does not offer an hourly wage, it's straight commission, so it costs them nothing to hire someone and get them to sell those 9 policies upfront to friends/families. Even if the employee quits almost immediately, BL still has made money off that person.

#1365931

As was pointed out already, you are not a recruiter, you are a telemarketer, reading from a script. And working at Bankers as an agent is NOT a job, it's a business opportunity. If it was so great, we'd all be trying to work there.

#1352668

I was an agent for this company. I was even promoted to a Unit Field Trainer.

I was the top sales agent for the entire state. #1 Annuity salesperson, #1 LTC agent, #1 Life Agent. I couldn't even pay my mortgage.

They talk a good game, suck you in, and the numbers simply dont pan out. This is, by far, the worst insurance company out there....and thats an impressive feat in and of itself.

This was more than likely written by some BL *** trying to offset all the negative (and very true) comments.

#1185618

You guys at Bankers are a bunch of alcoholics who professionally spin lies. Do Not go check these guys out - Immoral and Corrupt!

#1182035

Most what you write is not true. I applied for a sales job.

Apparently, the company believes when it hires someone as a sales representative, there is no obligation or need to pay a salary. It's all commission-based and a captive agent position.

Why bother and not become a 1099 free agent instead?

Keeping freedom from some *** Asian managers with middle-school education?

Horrible products (overpriced), next to zero ethics, no respect/regard to senior citizens' needs, complete disregard towards agents' needs... a company that is obsolete and useless in all concepts and contexts.

#1151090

Sweetie, you are NOT a recruiter! You are nothing more than an appointment setter.

The fact you think you are a recruiter proves you do not even know what a recruiter is/does.

Nice try. You calling yourself a recruiter would be like a receptionist in a law firm calling her/himself an attorney

Do not buy insurance from this company - it is a scam!!

My experience with Bankers Life Insurance. A few years ago my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. After the treatment failed she was sent to a hospice. My dad had taken out a long term care policy with Bankers Life Insurance Company about 10 years previously so they felt that they would not be a drain on us children. It did turn out that they were not a great expense on us but it was due to the insurance. Instead they both died shortly after my mom entered the hospice. Bankers Life Insurance Company (Bankers) was no help financially and in fact treated me maliciously and had sold my parents a worthless policy. Initially after my mother was sent to the hospice I called Bankers and checked that the policy was valid and in force. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) was pleasant and checked on the policy. He stated that the policy was paid up to date and in force and it was a “Gold” policy that covered at home and at an approved facility. The policy was not currently online but they would call it up from the archives and load it online so it could be referenced. Unfortunately shortly after her admittance (about 10 days) my mother died. My farther also suffered a stroke at the same time and complications from the stroke resulted in his death shortly after her death. As the executor of their estates and being an approved individual on the policy I filed the insurance claim to cover any non-covered expenses from their other insurance policies. Initially the company responded with requests for information from the facility. I was able to call a CSR and discuss the claim as an approved individual. Also on the initial claim form I submitted I explained that I was filing the claim because the customer (my farther) and the covered individual (my mother) were both deceased. Several of the letters from the company were addressed to the estate of my mother or farther. After a few weeks we received a bill from the hospice for services not covered by Medicare. I contacted Bankers and they requested additional information from the hospice. After each letter asking for more information I called the hospice to inquire about the information and found that the hospice had supplied the information previously. Checking the dates I found that letters from the claims office were often received a week or so after they were written. When I called the CSR they would stall requesting additional information. They insisted that there was no bill outstanding from the hospice so I scanned and emailed my copy to the CSR. After about a month when I called the CSR she said the claim had been rejected because it did not meet the 30 day exclusion period. The policy has a 30 day exclusion for any expenses incurred but when I examined the policy I found that the exclusion did not apply to hospice or respice admissions. When I called the CSR again they then said that since they had no bills there was nothing to pay. I told her that I had in fact sent a scan of the bill a week previous. She then asked if I could hold while she read the policy and checked on the bill. As it was lunch time at work I could not continue to hold while she found and read the policy and bill. The next day I received a letter from the claims department and they said that all the information was received and that my mother fit the requirement of incapacitated and the facility was an approved long term care facility. It was of course dated several days earlier so I called the CSR and asked for the status of the claim hoping it had been approved. She refused to discuss the claim with me. She stated they required a letter from the customer or covered individual before discussing any claims. I noted that I was listed on the policy as an approved individual and they had discussed the claim with me before. She insisted that they needed a signed form and when I stated that the customer and covered individual were both deceased this did not change the request. Unfortunately I got rude at this point and suggested that they come down and dig up the caskets to get their signatures if it was required and promptly hung up. Two days later another CSR called me directly and wanted to explain their rejection of the claim. If you have ever read “Catch 22” this was classic Yosarian. She stated that “1- The insurance only covers Medicare approved expenses and 2- If Medicare pays for the expense they do not pay for the expense”. I asked the obvious question “If Medicare approves an expense then they pay for it so what does your insurance pay for?”. She stated that this was a “loophole” and I suggested that rather than a loophole it was more like the “Grand Canyon”. I then asked her how they could sell a policy they knew was worthless since no one could ever collect on it and the conversation ended then. So to recap: 1) My parents (and presumably many others) were sold a worthless policy they can never collect on. 2) I was treated rudely and harassed by the Customer Service Department when they insisted that I get a form signed by deceased parents. 3) They harassed me and refused to pay a claim that represented ~ 10% of the premiums they had collected. You may ask why I did not pursue a legal remedy but that would cost significantly more than the amount of the claim. I can only relate my experience and caution you against ever buying a policy from this company. If you already have a policy from this company I caution you to carefully look at the policy details about what and when they cover any costs lest you find that the policy is as worthless as my parents.

Most ALL Health Insurance policies increase in cost. This is not an atypical business model to adhere to.

As the health risk increases, so does the premium to adjust for the higher risk. I am in no way an advocate for Bankers Life, but this is the standard approach by all companies, on a "Class" and not an "Individual" basis.

You were not targeted or singled out. This is acceptable and common business practice.

#1185614

They bought a policy with a 30day elimination period. There are other options for less or No elimination period, but the policies cost more. This is normal practice with all companies offering these types of policies.

#1158517

We have had similar experiences with Bankers! There is no continuity in any thing they tell you and the story changes daily!

My mother died before she was able to use the policy, but I don't believe it would have ever paid! Premiums went up every year and she paid them faithfully, but none of the benefits ever went up!

She was so proud that none of her children would have to pay if she needed care. I'm so glad that she never got to see what her money DIDN'T pay for

Avoid this rip off company!

Unfortunately my father purchased a LTC policy from these crooks. He has had to live in a nursing home for the past 4+ years due to dementia. I have had to deal with these crooks the whole time to get reimbursement for his care and have never dealt with such a bunch of jerks in my life! They do everything and use every excuse to not pay valid claims. They only pay for personal care, not for rent or any other expenses. Buy from another REPUTABLE company, not this one.

Yep, had the same problem, even a year after my mother passed. These folks simply don't want to pay out on their policies after the policy holder passes, and they will make it next-to-impossible for you to get your funds as a beneficiary.

Bougus interview calls

That sound so familiar to me as I received a call from the glasshouse in reference to a job for administration assistant after arriving I was told it was an informal interview to put a face with the resume and asked if I could come in the following day for a formal interview which I did .let me just say it was the worst mistake ever , not only was I mislead but the interview took place inside of a coffee shop three blocks away and it was for a marketing job going door to door. it was an very unprofessional learning experience.

Claims Process for Long Term Care

This is the worst experience I have ever had with an Insurance Company. The process to get a claim processed has been a nightmare. They send a lot of letters but I have been waiting months for claim checks. When they did finally arrive the Asset Protection Unit sent letters stating that they paid too much and requested the over payment be refunded. So unless you plan a lot of frustrating time contacting their Customer Service I would recommend that you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Resolved: Aggravated!

we have attempted to reach our representative who issued the policy to my 85 year old Mother, for 9 days now. NO return calls, no response, and when I actually reach a LIVE person on the phone instead of an automated response, they tell me I have the wrong department, and pass me on to ANOTHER automated response! Not sure I have EVER been this agitated with a company!! Is it impossible to actually get any Customer Service with this company? Is it possible that someone cares enough to return a call? I highly recommend you RUN from this company, if you can!
