Well now i have been with bankers as a recruiter for about 2 months and I am happy with my job. I had people actually thank me for ceiling them in to the interview because they loved what they heard at the briefing.

It made me feel really good. I was working commission but now i will be payed hourly. After months of working there I see that our agents are actually making money so now i can CONFIRM from experience that this is NOT A SCAM...once again. I do not know what makes people think its a scam still.

I don\'t know how the other offices work but the branches we have in San Diego are not a scam. We currently have over 100 agents working and are growing everyday that I recruit. =)

Yes you have to pay for your licenses but its not paying the company. When you leave the company you will still have a license in your state and if you go to sell insurance at another company you wont need to get licensed again.

And BANKERS reimburses your money after 6 months. Its only 300$ I don\'t see what the problem is.

I dont know why all of these people are saying that Bankers life and casualty is a scam when they get called in for an interview. They found my resume online and i went in for an interview.

Even though i did not take the job in sales or management because i am not a sales person i did take the job as a recruiter and currently am working for them. I call people and they seem to get angry when i can not give them full information about the positions. But in all reality i really do not have that information to give out. That is what the interviews are for and recruiters dont have that info.

And people call you back angry telling you that i am a scammer is really annoying. im not a scammer and if you want to think so go right ahead. I am not the one passing up an opportunity for a job, YOU ARE! I KIND OF WANT TO LAUGH IN THE EAR OF EACH PERSON THAT SAYS WE ARE A SCAM BUT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO BE RUDE BY THE COMPANY..lol but it is kinda funny.

all im doing is offering you an opportunity if you want to listen to a website full of people that have no clue what they are talking about go right ahead..its your loss not anyone else!

anyway...im done! good luck on your job search!!

I've been to 3 separate interviews for the position of Unit Field Trainer, (Manager) and have loved everything I have heard. An agent position is an entry level job, if you want low pay for mediocre work go apply at Mcdonalds.

Any entry level position is going to be tough.

That's why you prove your worth to your superiors and look to advance through the company quickly. If you live a mediocre life and aren't willing to step out of your comfort zone, then your not the ideal candidate for any position other than janitor, and even that's pushing it.

I was called yesterday by a recruiter looking for a "sales manager". I was told I was a great candidate because of my training skills and management experience.

I verified that this was to be a management roll, training employees, and not working with customers. When I got there fifteen minutes early, there were already three other candidates filling the only three chairs in the waiting room. After signing in and collecting my welcome packet, I decided to wait in the hallway. More candidates came and continued to fill the room or chose to stand with me in the hall.

Others had been told that they too were interviewing for a management position. The time for the interview came, and the whole group, about a dozen of us, were led into an office because their boardroom was locked and no one had a key. We squished in as we were told a little about the company, no fancy slides because they were in the locked boardroom. We were asked to fill out questionnaire forms about our backgrounds, and at the end it asked if we had anyone we wanted to refer.

They then took us one by one for individual interviews. My interview consisted of being asked if I could sell insurance. When I mentioned I was told the interview was for a management position, the interviewer said they almost never hired management from outside the company.

I told him no thanks to the job and left. He handed me a card and said to give him a call if I decided I wanted to make some money.

Have you ever tried the Do not call list? They cant call you if you are on it, but its something you need to do for yourself. Also, because you are 79 (80, 81 now?) there really isnt a lot of anything they could do for you service wise.

Also, are you talking about Bankers Trust or Bankers Life?

I have applied and been accepted to Bankers Life. I had gone through Kelly Services for a drug screen and backround check.

To me everything seems legit. I don't know why these people are saying its a scam. I even signed a paper saying that i would be making $10 an hour plus commission. To me that doesnt seem like its a scam.

Yes i did read the whole paper as well as the Handbook I will be working at Bankers Life but not through them only through Kelly Services as a Dialer. I never had a group interview. I had an actual interview that was by myself and the manger at the branch.

I also have a friend working for Bankers Life as a recruiter I gave her my number and her boss called me for an interview. You people are crazy..

I am going in soon for an “interview” with an open mind. I will post my findings afterward.

Here we go….

After recruiting for a while i found out the the IT people are the rude ones for some reason so now when i come across their resume i just trash it and dont even bother to call them! THEY ARE NOT EVEN WORTH MY TIME!

Guest

I didn't even get asked; instead I got a voicemail from a recruiter with a heavy accent named "Smith" informing me that I had an interview set up with Bankers Life & Casualty the following Tuesday...!? Like others my background is IT, so why are you calling me?

I smelled BS and Googled them, found this site.

Thanks! No itention of going to this "interview."

I dont know who re ruiterd you but I tell everyone that the meeting is set up as a career briefing. And sorry we had to reschedule you we never had so many people attend before so that was not expected. You should come back.:)

The reason I would thinks someone would think its a scam is for one is the web site makes it look like you are actually applying for a job. When I was called the person I spoke to told me they had management positions open, customer service, and advisors.

Then in an email I was told to bring my resume. So I thought I was showing up for an intervirew not a business briefing. To me this seemed misrepresented.

When I went to the meeting they told me they were full they needed to reschedule next week. This was very upsetting because my time is valueable and again I was expecting a job interview.

This SCAM has happened to me by 4 different companies six different times since I've been job hunting the last 2 months. The local car dealerships pull this manuever as well to try to get you in the door.

Since I have the spare time I'm actually going to show up and ask to use their restroom. Then, I'm going to back up their toilets.

Then I will leave. The way I look at it, If they are going to inconvenience me in my worst moment, then its only fair that they have to deal with the inconvenience of calling a plumber.

So glad to come across this blog - I too sent in an amazing professional resume, hoping to land what was advertised as an amazing, Executive Assistant position. Well, 2 days later I get a call thinking it was for the postion for which I applied.

Well after listening to the "rectruiter" ratteling off his rehearsed lines, I said this is not the job I applied for...he said "that is correct. THAT position has been filled." (yeah right!)So he tells me about what they do have to offer and I set up an appt. Well, I thought it was a little fishy, so I get online and look up the company and lo and behold I see this SCAM blog!! THANK YOU ALL for posting your issues.

I will be sending a reply email back telling them I am not interested in working for a SCAMMING company. How dare these people lurk on those who are truly looking for employment, or better employment -Those types of companies are low life, *** of the earth and I'm going to tell them so!!

Thank you!!

I worked for this company for many years. I put years of work into this and made my way into management.

Did I make money? Yes. But I also learned that Bankers does not care about their clients. There are some good agents, dont get me wrong.

But as a whole the company is driven by a few white men at the top who only care about what is in their pockets. This company does not care about ethics. They do not care about taking care of their clients or their employees.

They only care about the bottom dollar and it does not matter how they get it. You might not see that as a recruiter but I promise you the view from inside is very dismal.

I too received and e-mail from this... company.

My first reaction was 'How in the world did you read my resume and think I have the skill set for insurance?'. I too have a job history in IT and wouldn't dream of selling insurance. My second reaction was 'How unprofessional of this business to send a link in my e-mail for me to click on to accept a meeting invitation'. LOL, I don't think so...

whether this is a legit business or not, remains to be seen. My personal opinion is, I wouldn't work for someone this unprofessional.

But it is cattle herding! I was a recruiter there.

I was to call every resume posted to monster, career builders and hot jobs (before monster took that over) Yes every resume. I was good at what I did. I was paid to call everyone desperate for a job and get them in to listen to a presentation. now even after they tell you the big money you'll make which is possible but not really....

most are let go before 3 months are even up if you arent making the managers a lot of money they let you go. the more they hire and let go they still get their cut of residues they do NOT care about their employees at all. they will back stab you steal your leads/ potential clients and anything else they can get . I watched this for years.

this year alone I recruited over 150 people 57 actually made it through the school and got licensed and appointed now out of that 57 5 are still there over 6 months.....in the 2 1/2 years Ive worked there I can not tell you how many people i brought in. how many after seeing $$ in their eyes barely made it a month there if they were lucky out of the hundreds i had helped sign up put out that 315$ and struggle through the class 1 out of maybe every 10 made it through SNA to become an agent there out of those they were lucky to keep 1 out of 30 a year.... just some food for thought if this is a way you want to try.

What X-Bankers Agent said is very accurate. I want to apologize to the masses I called in wasted your time and sat there collecting a measly pay check and not speaking up.

I justified it that it really is a legit company and if they worked 60-80 hours a week what they were being fed wasnt too much ***. but they way they treat their employees was no way to treat anyone.

"And they give free vacations lol."- If you could get any dumber, we don't know how. The 'vactions' are not free.

You are 1099'ed on it. Your friend may be making 80K, scamming and lying, but again, that doesn't make it less of a scam.

You are a Bankers Life and Casualty agent demonstrating bad grammar, and equally incredible ignorance, combined with a koolaide overdose, complicated by a morality lower than the leadership of the company. Your post tell's more about the truth of the scam, that is Bankers Life and Casualty Company, than any negative comments.

I have friends that work in banker, and they make over 80,000 k each. Just like any job u have to work hard to make money.

Just cuz some dumb negative lazy people write bad reviews doesnt make a company a scam.

The company's history and numbers speak on its own. And they give free vacations lol.

This recruiter is delusional. They only reimburse you for your license if you sell a certain amount of policies.

So its not just working there 6 months. A recruiter has no idea of what the job intails because he/she is just calling people all day who may fit a job that requires some kind of people skills. They don't have an insurance license!! I lasted about 6 weeks until I could not stand sitting in a boiler room calling 300 people a day off of their "leads"!

Let me explain to you what Bankers considers a lead. It's basically a phone book with people over 64 years old.... thats it! Your phone script leaves the consumer under the impression that you are just dropping off pamphlets describing changes in medicare.

I worked in a New Jersey office. Anytime you have the district director make a personal stop in to warn the branch that we are going to be audited and get everything in order so we dont get in trouble.... well, then there is usually something to hide. My first week they had me "ride" with one of the most unethical sales agents I have ever seen.

Basically violated every ethical standard I had been taught during my licensing school just 3 weeks prior! I'm not saying every branch is a mess....

but mine was. I can't see them being open more than a year.
