My friend is 88 years old. She signed up for Bankers Life app. 20 years ago.

Now, she can't bathe herself, needs transportation, can't cook for herself,

Actually, needs full time help getting around. She's still paying the premium,

plus $700.00 a week, which she gets back about 3 months later and has a caretaker for 7-8 hours a week that goes out and buys her meals. Is this what Bankers life has to offer. I'm glad I didn't go with them... Not a good investment by any means......

They are definitely crooked. I thought highly of them until I left, primarily because I didn't want to be captive anymore.

They sent their new recruits to replace my policies, generating chargebacks for me, and also changed practices so that I had chargebacks where there wouldn't ordinarily have been. Very deceitful company.

I used to work for Bankers Life and Casualty. I spent more money in the three months working there than I made.

The leads that were provided were mostly blank and we had to wind up going door to door in 100 degree weather.

I also had to pay for all my licenses and testing. I will never work for them or another insurance company again.

This is a total scam. It is a bait and switch and they take advantage of 20 somethings. They have to pay for their education and insurance certifications and then do not get reinbursed. Also, they try to collect balances that they cannot explain and threaten to send...

@ seriously.. quit lying about the 1099.

As an accountant the only thing you would be able to write off regarding this job on your taxes would be, a cell phone if it is only used for business purposes, and pretty much that is it, because there is no other expenses you could really write off legally.

The 1099 is in place so that the "employer" does not pay the matching portion of FUTA or SUTA tax, instead, the "employee" pays all of it. Just so you know, FUTA and SUTA income tax is a little over 15% of your total income.

Bankers Life And Casualty Company in Washington, District Of Columbia - Took my 5000.00 no service, no refund!!

I opened a CD early, i/4/2011 in order to buy an annuity, from Bankers Life and.... for 5000.00 3 days later I was rejected, I have been fighting for my 5000.00 back for days after days. Always get the run around that I have to wait 20 days for my check to clear. They told me today that my check cleared their bank on the 5th and I still have to wait the full 20 days, even though I didn't get any kind of service from them. They entered my house on false pretenses by using a vague acquaintance call for an appointment. In my opinion, they are scamming the elderly by doing this. I know what the 20 days are for!! That is so they can combine my 5000.00 with hundreds of thousands more and get Very good interest on our money. I am a 73 year old widow, with a small inheritance last month, I need this money desperately!! Can't fine the CEO's number or I would be on the phone with him or her. BEWARE OF CALLS TO GET INTO YOUR HOME BY BANKERS LIFE AND CASUALTY, YOU MAY BE SORRY!!

The "vague acquaintance" is usually a neighbor who was on the "neighborhood list" when your name was generated by their lead system. It makes you think that it's a known person, when they casually mention, "Do you know Mr. Jones, just down the street at house #1234? Well, Mrs. Skibun, I'm going to be in the area getting this important information out to the folks,....what time do you eat lunch?...Great, then I'll see you about 1:30....Is your number on the mailbox?...Great, I'll see you then!

See, Mrs. S., it's real easy for them to "come by" and have you cash out a CD early.

It was rejected (which is seldom, with them) because it wasn't suitible relative to your liquid assets, and the availibilty of funds in case of emergency. A good agent would have never suggested such a thing for your circumstance.

Sadly, their managers and company, don't care. They are trained to get a check, no matter what, even if the application is never issued.

You are correct, your money is over at their house, for a while.

Sorry, again, for their rude behavior.

Go to your State.gov, for example Ohio.gov, then look for the Department of Insurance, go to that link and look for the file a complaint tab and fill it out, copy it for yourself and send them (Bankers) a copy. Also, report them to the Senate Committee on Aging, in Washington, DC., send them and your senator a copy of your complaint.

The President is Scott Perry.

The CEO is James Purier.

Best chance to get through to them:

1-800-621-3724 don't pick any options, then it will tranfer to an operator, and ask to speak to one of them. Doubtful though.

Call your local TV channels and newpapers and tell them your going to pickett outside their office at 10am on Monday with a sign, take a thermos and a lawn chair and several friends and signs, then go to lunch. It'll get coverage, many TV stations are show casing them and their sales tatics. Just google abc6 news and Bankers. Great story in Rhode Island. Or Inside Edition, story out of California, and North Carolina. Or the one out of Tacoma Washington.

Be sure to do a video cam of your picketing to upload to Utube so we can share it with our friends and help, as you become the crusading grandmother. We would love to see you give em *** we support you.

Sorry, for sorry people like that, they (those brillant CEOs) breed, with their corporate culture. They specifically target vulnerable seniors. If you were in my family we would join the class action lawsuit that in going on now, for seniors against them.
